New Page: Old Fiddles! (“Old Fiddle Chic!”)
Earlier, I mentioned some time ago that I had acquired a small stock of (about 40) older instruments. Most of them were violins, but there were a few violas. Some of them were in terrible shape through damage, neglect, or both; some were not too bad.
Obviously, if you have followed my work, this is not the first time I have revived old, damaged, or neglected instruments. As you can read in my older posts, I have done so off and on for 20 years or more. But, this is the first time in more than 25 years, that I have taken in such a load of damaged fiddles at one time.
Extreme Example
Not all are as bad as this one! This one will require that I actually carve a new top plate: The old one is just too badly damaged, having had the sound post driven all the way through from the inside, in some sort of accident. (Sad!)
Fiddle Resurrections in Progress!
Thus, I have begun to repair and restore them to playability and proper adjustment. They will all look and sound good. In addition, I will price them as I see their value. Remember: I am an “ignorant savage, from the wilds of Oregon.” I am not a “trained appraiser,” so some prices may be too low, others may be too high. (That’s life!)

I will post the instruments as I have them ready to play, and if you see something you like, you can contact me. Each comes with a case... an inexpensive case, suitable to deliver the instrument safely into your hands…and possibly it will be satisfactory indefinitely. But really good cases are expensive, and I don’t offer them
